Traits
Traits are the special attributes embedded in each Ether Cards NFT. They can be classified by the kinds of entitlements they provide to the NFT holder.
The following is a list of the different Trait categories currently available, but it could be expanded as the platform evolves.
Free Ticket Creation

Trait Types
Traits - based on their nature - belong to one or more major categories. The most prominent ones are listed below.
Utility Traits
Utility Traits entitle a holder to access certain features, functions, or events. Everything from discounts on a product or service to acting as a VIP ticket to a virtual concert can be considered a Utility Trait.
Vanity Traits
Vanity Traits are designed to be incredibly rare or difficult to attain. These traits currently have no functionality – however they are designed for functionality to be added to them later.
For this launch, vanity traits will be given out to our team, our supporters and members of the community that helped us during the launch.
Royalty Traits
Royalty Traits are only for the elite royals. If you are one of the lucky owners of this Trait then you can be sure to be rewarded handsomely. More details will be revealed after the sale.
Meta Traits
Meta Traits can change or amplify other Traits. An example would be a Trait that doubles any discounts you receive from other NFTs in a particular collection.
Launch Traits
Launch Traits are the exclusive Traits created for the NFTs sold during the Ether Cards Public Sale. Each Launch Trait falls under one or more of the categories above and is also split into Common or Limited designations.
As the name implies, the assignment of Limited Launch Traits is restricted to a certain number of tokens. Limited Traits will not be assigned until the Public Sale ends. (Read more about the available Launch Traits)
Limitations
Certain Traits could be abused if not limited properly, so we have implemented some safeguards to protect creators and the platform as a whole.
Cooldown
Utility and Commission Traits will be disabled for a certain amount of time when a Card is sent to a new address to avoid people sharing benefits or otherwise taking advantage of the system.
Cooldowns will become especially important as Layer 2 solutions are rolled out, making moving and using Cards extremely fast and cheap.
Rate-limiting
Similar to cooldowns, rate-limits will be applied to regulate the spamming and abuse of certain Traits in certain timeframes (e.g. daily limits).
Reactivation
Creators can have certain traits require a reactivation fee each and every time the NFT changes ownership. This fee could be used to process KYC requirements on certain Traits or for owners to override cooldowns/rate-limits.
New owners can choose to not pay reactivation fees, in which case the associated Trait would remain inactive.
Expiration
Aside from the Launch Traits, it is likely that most Traits will have some sort of expiration limit imposed. Expiration limits can be a set date or based on usage.
This could allow creators to create NFTs with single-use discounts without having to burn the NFT or track serial numbers, for example.
